VIDEO (1:56) - We spent an afternoon with Michelle, one of the volunteers at Kingston Humane Society, to learn more about what drives her to make a difference in the lives of shelter animals.
Every day, thousands of volunteers like Michelle graciously give their time and love to society's most vulnerable animals.
While shelter staff are responsible for providing medical care, oftentimes volunteers help with exercise, enrichment, and socializing animals under their care.
"When they are here at the shelter, this is their fun time. You know, we're not here to train them to heel or anything like that. We just want them to get out and be dogs... to sniff and roll, and enjoy the fresh air. To chase frogs and bumblebees... to make them more adoptable." - Michelle, Shelter Volunteer
